Federal Reserve Challenge
University of Wisconsin-Madison
About
Federal Reserve Challenge UW-Madison (FRC) is an undergraduate student organization focused on applied economics, research, and national competition. Our goal is to support competitive, and intellectually curious students interested in macroeconomics and monetary policy. Members have the opportunity to participate in both the College Fed Challenge and The Fiscal Challenge annually. FRC also offers members economic education, research opportunities, technical skills training, networking with alumni, and social events.
Purpose
The purpose of FRC is to encourage members to think critically about the components of the U.S. macroeconomy and the factors that influence that economy. Members learn more about the role of the Federal Reserve in making and implementing monetary policy decisions, as well as fiscal policy to a lesser extent. The organization also teaches members to research and organize data to provide an analysis of current and future economic conditions.
